At least 19 earthquakes recorded in 24 hours

At least 19 earthquakes were recorded in Northern Nevada in the 24-hour period ending at 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey Web site.


Most of the earthquakes were centered near Verdi-Mogul and Reno and measured below a 2.0 magnitude. The strongest were a 2.5 at 1:41 a.m., a 2.6 at 3:09 a.m., a 2.0 at 4:03 a.m., and a 2.0 at 7:32 p.m.

A 2.5 magnitude quake was recorded near Wells at 7:29 a.m. and a 1.3 was recorded near Loyalton, Calif., at 7:01 a.m.
