Mogi Circle around Missouri?
Never seen the New Madrid Zone actually form a Mogi Circle, possibly indicating a future tremor in the center!
This is the NW Quadrant and curiously enough the same name as the capital of the neighbor state of Illinois is near this MOGI Center...It just needs a quake in Kansas City area to complete this MOGI!!

Taiwan Raises Jangmi to Super Typhoon, Issues Alerts (Update2)
Sept. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Taiwan's Central Weather Bureau issued a land alert on Typhoon Jangmi after upgrading the storm to a super typhoon, as wind speeds accelerated to an estimated 227 kilometers (141 miles) an hour.
The eye of the typhoon was about 560 kilometers east- southeast of the southern coastal town of Eluanbi at 11:30 a.m. local time, the bureau reported on its Web site. The eye may move to 140 kilometers east of Eluanbi offshore by 11 a.m. tomorrow, the bureau said.
It issued alerts today warning of landslides, falling rocks and floods, adding to an alert sent yesterday for shipping vessels. Winds are already affecting the eastern and southern parts of Taiwan, the bureau said.
Jangmi may land in China on the night of Sept. 29 after passing through Taiwan, the Fujian Meteorological Bureau said on its Web site today. The typhoon could ``severely affect'' the eastern Chinese province as it gains strength, it said.

In everyday life, we inhabit a space of three dimensions – a vast ‘cupboard’ with height, width and depth, well known for centuries. Less obviously, we can consider time as an additional, fourth dimension, as Einstein famously revealed. But just as we are becoming more used to the idea of four dimensions, some theorists have made predictions wilder than even Einstein had imagined.
String theory intriguingly suggests that six more dimensions exist, but are somehow hidden from our senses. They could be all around us, but curled up to be so tiny that we have never realized their existence.
Beyond the third dimension
Some string theorists have taken this idea further to explain a mystery of gravity that has perplexed physicists for some time – why is gravity so much weaker than the other fundamental forces? Does its carrier, the graviton, exist and where? The idea is that we do not feel gravity’s full effect in the everyday world. Gravity may appear weak only because its force is being shared with other spatial dimensions.
To find out whether these ideas are just products of wild imaginations or an incredible leap in understanding will require experimental evidence. But how?
High-energy experiments could prise open the inconspicuous dimensions just enough to allow particles to move between the normal 3D world and other dimensions. This could be manifest in the sudden disappearance of a particle into a hidden dimension, or the unexpected appearance of a particle in an experiment. Who knows where such a discovery could lead!

KIRO 7 Storm Chaser Billy Griffin reported strong rotation within the clouds near Burien which can be indicative of a severe thunderstorm developing, there was pea-sized hail in the vicinity of the funnel. Billy saw a number of funnel clouds, one near Sea-Tac Airport, another while on Kent-Kangley Road and another east of Maple Valley. All in all, he counted 11 cold core funnel clouds and then witnessed a weak tornado northeast of Black Diamond. The tornado touched down near the communities of Ravensdale and Georgetown.

Integration of USGS magnetic anomalies, NGDC gravity anomalies, and EARTHSAT Landsat lineaments with seismic,outcrop and well log data allows identification of previouslyunrecognized fault systems, as well as extrapolation of known fault systems beyond the confines of groundtruthed areas. Fracture-induced porosity is expected along these faults; several of the proposed fault systems are coincident with hydrocarbon fields. Seismic and well log data for the Clarendon-Linden Fault System (CLF) indicate motion in Cambrian (Rome Trough),Ordovician (Black River/Trenton), Silurian, and Devonian times. Other lineament sets parallel the CLF to the east and west. Structures in outcrop and seismic occur along these lineaments.
Well log data (Rickard, 1973) suggest these faults to the east experienced motion in at least Black River/Trenton time. East-striking magnetic anomalies in central NYS coincide with the northern 0-line of Silurian salt, suggesting that the northern
boundary of the Silurian salt basin was fault-controlled. Some east-northeast trending Landsat lineaments in central NYS are coincident with Black River/Trenton faults that were controlled by older faults associated with the northward extension of the Rome Trough. Some of these lineaments extend into the Mohawk Valley region. In the Mohawk Valley region, faults associated with the Taconic collision can be traced south to the NYS line. These same faults control the disposition of Silurian
facies. Faulted sags in Devonian units occur across these lineaments. WNW-striking lineaments in the same region coincide with faulted monoclines at the surface.
Alleghanian thrust ramps and tear faults also are delineated by Landsat lineaments.

Yes, for the uninitiated, YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST! And given the poor state of the economy, this may be the only place you hear about it. Translated from geojournaljargon it means that the Himalayans are compressing in a wedge and squeezing under this location at the yellow star in the BIG QUAKE zone. This looks like one of those cute geo stories where over millions of years everything crunches through this tight doorway until there is nothing left! Which might be a better scenario than the one that has India rotating around with Japan. There was also an Andaman Quake at the same time!
