NHK WORLD English: "Unseasonal yellow sand hits Seoul

Exerpt:

The South Korean capital has gone all hazy as unseasonal yellow sand covers Seoul.

Visibility was poor on Friday as Seoul and its suburbs were covered with the fine sand, and people were spotted wearing surgical masks or covering their faces with their hands.

South Korea's meteorological agency says the sand blew in from China's Gobi desert, carried by prevailing westerly winds. The agency says it's the first time since 1988 that the phenomenon has hit South Korea in late May. The sand usually arrives in early spring.
